Images Sell

Images sell. That’s the truth, plain and simple. Property24, PrivateProperty and Gumtree specifically state the importance of using images in your advert, in order to increase the chances of selling by more than 10 times. Every other successful online shop is the same. Think about it – when shopping online for anything, if you can’t see the product properly (or at all), you are far less inclined to buy it and probably don’t even click on it. Your Hotel listings are no different. Professional photographs are vital in making your rental look as appealing as possible and getting it rented, making you money as fast as possible.

Quality Matters

While photos are vital to renting any Hotel home or apartment in Cape Town, non-professional photographs can do more harm than good. Poor quality photos taken by with a cell phone or an amateur, are world’s apart when it comes to quality when done by a professional photographer. This results in unsatisfactory images that usual make a property look worse than in real life, when they in fact they should make it look better, deterring many potential guests before they even make contact. I will guarantee the highest quality Hotel photos to make sure your listing gets the leads it deserves.

Free Quote Form

I want to help get you stunning photos for your Hotel listing, netting you loads of bookings and an array of potential guests, as soon as possible. More People are buying & renting online, than ever before

COVID Changed the Market

COVID has changed the way we shop and do business forever. The majority of buyers and renters in both the commercial and residential markets, now do so online from their phone or computer at home.

For this reason alone, high-resolution photographs are an absolute must of any property that wants to compete in this face paced market. In order to be one step ahead of other listings, your needs the highest quality images to stand out above the crowd.

Putting up low quality cellphone images or hiring a cheap, amateur photographer to shoot your Hotel, will do your property listing nothing but harm, as these photos will very likely make your property look smaller, less appealing and even claustrophobic, compared to what it is in reality.

I guarantee that my photographs will make your property looks luxurious, spacious and simply magnificent. I will come out to shoot your property, no matter what the size or travel distance, so don’t hesitate to get in touch today.

How much will a shoot cost?

All my quotes are neatly itemized and broken down based on each required part of the job, so that you can see exactly what is being charged for. My travel, photography and editing are a time based service, based on an hourly rate for each. Travel time is calculated based on time required to drive to and from the shoot location from Cape Town, while on site shooting time is based on how large the property is and how many rooms/areas need to photographed. Once on site, I will take a quick walk with you, through the property to chat about what needs to be photographed and what doesn’t. You can then leave things in my very capable hands, to professionally photograph the property.

Cape Town Airbnb Photographer Editing

Standard & Advanced Editing

Once the day’s shoot is complete the edit process begins, once I get back to my editing computer. Based on your requirements, more cost effective editing is available, together with more advanced HDR editing, that really take the photographs to another level of luxury. The main difference between the two types of editing is that the Standard Editing is done using only a single image per angle, while the advanced is done using 5+ photo exposures, in order to get a proper exposure of both interior and exterior views. The downside of Standard Editing is that the exterior views are generally blown out (over exposed) as seen in the adjacent image. Advanced HDR Editing on the other hand, eliminates this issue, but it takes more time to create it, thus the cost there of is more.

Uploading & Selection

Once the edits are complete, I will neatly upload all the watermarked preview images for you on a private and secure Google Drive link. I will then email you the link for you to view all the edited images. From here, you will choose how many images you would like to purchase and at what resolution, by simply dragging them into a selection folder. You are welcome to mix web and print resolutions as you need as well. I will then see your selections and create a final invoice accordingly. Once paid, I will send the final non-watermarked images through to you, using the same process.

Frequently Asked Questions

faq

I have a question

My Cape Town Hotel Photography service is designed to help you get more leads for your online list, resulting to more viewings and thus more money in your pocket.
Here I answer some of the most frequently asked questions. If you are still unsure about something, please use the contact form below to get hold of me. Thanks

How much does it cost?

My rates are based on my time spent per project, at an hourly rate, including the following:

  • Travel Time – Time taken to travel to and back from the Hotel location, measured from Cape Town.
  • Shooting Time – Time spent photographing on site. This will naturally vary between each project, depending on the size and complexity of the shoot and your requirements.
  • Sorting and Filtering Time – Once back at my computer, I take the day’s shoot and start organizing the images before the edit process begins. To give you an idea, a 2 hour shoot usually results in anywhere between 200-400 photos, so this process is vital for me moving forward as efficiently as possible. While I keep most images for the editing process, I take the time here to delete and images that are too similar (choosing the best one). I also delete any images that I really feel aren’t of a high enough standard for delivery, whether is be because of random bird that flew into the image, a furniture price I’m not happy with etc.
  • Editing Time – Once sorted, I start the editing process. Here I enhance each photo’s shadows, contrast, light levels, colour, saturation and more, making sure it pops, while also still looking realistic and natural (which is very important or buyers/renters).
    • My editing services are dividing into two categories:
      • Basic Editing – I take take single images shot on the day and give each of these some editing time as explained above. The downside of this is that the exterior skies/views will be blown out (over-exposed), especially with interior photos. This is less of an issue with exterior photos during the day, although it does become an issue during sunrise and sunset. To solve this I recommend choosing my advanced HDR editing process.
      • Advanced HDR Editing – I combine multiple exposures of the same image to make sure both the interior and exterior sky/view are both exposed at the same level, recreating what our eyes naturally see. While HDR certainly does give a much higher end result, it does take a lot more time and work on my end, so the cost thereof is higher.
  • Preview Delivery Time – Once all edits are done, I will send all images (watermarked) to your via a private and secure Google Drive link for you to preview. Here you can choose which images you want to purchase usage rights to. The cost per image is based off what resolution you would like the image in. The higher the resolution, the higher the cost per image. You can naturally mix and match here as well. In other words, if you only need 1 or 2 images for high resolution print and 20 other images for in low resolution web format for your website or Facebook page, then that is definitely possible as well.
  • Additional Advanced Editing Time – While previewing images, there may be a few that require some additional elements to be edited out or in. While I may move some unsightly items/furniture out the way during the shoot, not everything can be moved, while the camera captures what it sees. For this reason there may be things that you would wanted removed post shoot, such as electric cables, air-conditioning boxes, or even stray people etc. This can be done, but it naturally does take more time on my end, and thus will add more hourly rates to the final invoice. I highly advise that you get your stylist and/or cleaner to come in before I arrive to shoot in order to make sure the property looks its best.
  • Invoicing and Final Delivery Time – Once you have made your image selections, I will send through a final invoice. Once paid, I will send another link via Google Drive with the final, non-watermarked images for you to download.
  • Admin Time – While my quoting, invoicing and email services are absolutely free, there will be extra charges for an admin work that goes beyond this.

Do you clean during your shoot?

No, the service is for photography only. Please make sure to get a cleaner or cleaning service to clean BEFORE I get there, and NOT DURING, otherwise they will be in the way of the shoot.

How long until I see my images?

In general I can get them done within 24hours, but this depends on work load at the time. If I am very busy it will take a little longer. I cannot guarantee a set delivery time, but will always do my best to deliver the photos as soon as possible.

In what dimensions and formats will the image be delivered?

Final Hotel photographs will be delivered once final payment has been made. Before sending through the invoice, I will send through a watermarked preview of all photos taken on the day, allowing you to select which images you’d like to purchase and at which resolution.

You are also able to mix and match resolutions, on an per image basis.

The image resolution options that are available are as follows:

  • Standard Web = 800x534px (67x45mm) at 72DPI JPEGS
  • Hi-Res Web = 1200x800px (101x67mm) at 72DPI JPEGS
  • A5 Print = 2619x1748px (221x148mm) at 300DPI JPEGS
  • A4 Print = 3715x2480px (314x210mm) at 300DPI JPEGS
  • A3 Print = 5363x3580px (454x303mm) at 300DPI JPEGS
  • A2 Print = 7432x4961px (629x420mm) at 300DPI JPEGS
  • A1 Print = 10511x7016px (890x564mm) at 300DPI JPEGS
  • A0 Print = 14881x9933px (1260x841mm) at 300DPI JPEGS

How will the images be delivered?

Once the shoot is complete I will send a preview of all images shot using a private and secure Google Drive link.

Here you can copy/choose the images you want into the selection folder. Once done, I will be able to see your selection on my end.

I will then send through the final invoice based on your selection. Once paid, I will send through the final images via another Google Drive link.

Do I own the copyright to the images?

When agreeing to use my service, you acknowledge and agree that I retain any and all copyright to all of my work.

What you are buying, are the image usage rights of the chosen images.

What this means is that you may use the images for whatever marketing purpose you require and does not restrict you, based on any time limit or medium.

The Copyright on my end simply means that you may not sell or resell the images for any profit whatsoever, and you may you claim that you created the images in any way.

The final quote pricing is different from the contact form

While I have put great effort into making the contact form provide you will an accurate price, this is still an estimation and not a final quote.

Once I have received your request in my email inbox, I will reply with a final quote or some questions in order to do so.

How long will it take to shoot?

In general, an hour (sometimes two) is enough for a standard two bedroom home or apartment. The more room/areas the property has, the more time it will naturally take for me to shoot it all.

While I always set out to complete the job as fast as possible (in order to not overcharge you on hours), maintaining the highest quality photos is just as important, so don’t want to rush either.

I generally try to quote worst case scenario in terms of shoot time required, as each job is different and there is no set price. However, more often than not finish the job in a shorter time period and invoice accordingly, thereby actually coming in lower than my initial quote.

When using the contact form, please be truthful on the amount of rooms/areas, as this will give you the most accurate estimate.

Why can't I get the shoot date I selected?

Selected shoot dates are not set in stone, as this is based off my current availability, workload, traffic and weather (this is Cape Town after all)

Be Respectful

I retain the right to not complete or start a job, should I feel uncomfortable, threatened or disrespected in any manner.

Get in Touch

My Cape Town Hotel Photography service is designed for people within the Cape Town area and surrounds, although should your budget allow, I can travel/fly to other destinations.

To get things going as quickly as possible, I designed a very detailed, yet easy to use contact/quote form that will not only put you in touch with me, but allow you to immediately get an automated cost estimate within a couple of minutes.

However, this is not a final quote, but rather an estimate for your convenience, until I can email you back with either some questions or confirm the final pricing.

While the contact form may seem like unnecessary work, everything in there is essential for me to give you an accurate quote. The address is there so that I not only know where to go, but also calculate travel costs. The property size/rooms/areas, is there for me to calculate time required to photograph everything. The image amount and resolutions are there so that you can get an accurate estimate on how much they will cost.

Filling out these details in this form is much faster than writing it in an email. They are the same questions I would be asking you via email, in order to give you a quote.

In saying that, please be as accurate as possible with the details, as anything not stated, but then required to be photographed on shooting day, will result in additional costs anyway.

Should you have any additional questions or requirements, please type them into the message areas provided. With all these details I will be able to get back to you as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Thanks
